Small DIY Projects To Complete At Home

SmallDIYProjects

Over the last year and a half, we’ve been told to stay at home, and rather than binge watch another Netflix series, take a look around your home for small tweaks to try. Some mini projects are productive and distraction from what’s going on around us and they’ll breathe a new life into your home in more ways than you can think. Some projects are simple such as replacing your lampshades or wallpapering your powder room bathroom. This will help pass the time and also inspire you to enjoy your home in more ways than you can think of.

In times of uncertainty, I’ve always been that person that craves order and structure. Many of us, while being at home and have the time, can tackle some of the most cluttered areas of our home. The first being the kitchen. Sometimes pulling out drawers and seeing the mess is enough to help you see what you can do with the space you have. With cans here and produce there, you might not have space but this is where you can get creative with the storage solutions. One idea could be to lower the cabinets to create more spots for the items. You just remove a few screws and a screwdriver and you’ll be amazed at what a difference it can make to fight the clutter.

Another simple project in your kitchen that can make it feel brand new is painting your cabinets. While you probably want to ensure that everyone in your home is on board before you decide on what to paint, grab a few samples to figure out which one is going to work best. Or a subtle approach, look for a calming blue or try a muted green. These are soothing but still different to shake up the style and welcome of your home.

Has water been getting in through small cracks in your window or door frame? While it might be easy to recaulk them, you could also replace them or even redesign a new window frame. Saw Trax, a local Atlanta saw business, offers a variety of saws to help you bring this idea to life. Of course, you’ll need help getting the window out of the frame and moving it to a new location. Saw Trax also offers scoop dollies to help you lift these heavy products from one point to another. They make loading or unloading these top-heavy jobs a breeze with its unique design that allows the dolly to operate like ah and truck. The object can be moved in any direction making long objects easy to move!

Gallery Walls are all over social media. There are several various ways to create this eye-catching display and it’s perfect for using multi-colored frames you might have been holding onto, figure out a perfect grid, or use old knick-knacks you have on hand. The gallery wall can also be various topics such as art that your children have crafted, collections of travels or prints you love, or even family photos over the years. Look around your home and mix up a few things to showcase it in a new light. Fill or replace photos in frames or switch it up with new snaps that remind of you the simple joys and happy moments from past times.

Add Personality to your wall not just with pictures but with bold wallpaper. One of the best things about wallpaper is that it’s not permanent. Several wallpaper graphics are easy to stick on and pull off later. It’s a fun update that can be subtle and if you love the product that it has many purposes to use not just in large areas of your home but even small ones like dresser drawers or your guest closet.

These projects are fun, easy, and inexpensive to do. They can take you a few hours, a weekend, or even a few days but they are worth the investment and the time to make your dream a reality. I love seeing quick before and afters and once you start to get the hang of some of these fun DIY projects, you’ll want to keep going!
